Amputation Levels

The type of prosthesis you will wear is based upon the length of your residual limb.

There are several different types of lower extremity amputations that can occur:

• Hemipelvectomy (pelvis)
• Hip amputation (greater trochanter)
• Above-knee amputation
• Below-knee amputation
• Syme’s Amputation
